Job Description:

Once in a life time opportunity to work in a technical role in our Monaghan, Ireland office. Must have experience in civil or structural engineering, residential timber-frame construction, and California regulatory processes. This position is a 6-12 month assignment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design wood frame structures, such as residential buildings (single family and multi-family).
• Create structural models by using computer-aided design software.
• Value engineering of wood frame structures to improve project efficiency.
• Evaluate appropriate material substitutions based on structural specifications.
• Track and report on project progress.
• Prepare reports, designs, and drawings.
• Provide relevant technical advice to the team.
• Prepare and deliver training to the technical team regarding compliance and structural design.
• Obtain planning and/or building regulations approval.
• Liaise with relevant professional staff such as architects and engineers.
• Experience working with contractors and subcontractors, framers specifically.
• Experience with third party inspections.
  Qualifications:
  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods and regulations, specifically compliance and code in California.
  • Project management and analytical skills.
  • Value engineering
  • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD.
  • Data-driven mindset with excellent mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication ability (both written and verbal).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or similar field of study, is required; a master's degree is desired.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a structural engineer in California.
