Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Infusion Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 9 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of infusion center specific experience License: Active Registered Nurse license in California Certifications: ONS chemo-bio certification required Must-Have: - Infusion center experience - Chemo-bio certification from ONS (2 year cycle) - BLS certification Description: The Infusion RN will work 9-hour day shifts with variable days, including every other weekend. The candidate must possess recent experience specific to infusion centers. Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and managing side effects. The nurse should be skilled in handling body fluids post-chemotherapy. IV push administration of chemotherapy is a critical task. Management and disposal of cytotoxic spills must be performed safely. Monitoring chemotherapy patients and recognizing abnormal lab values are essential. Care and management of ports and central lines are required. Isolation precautions and neutropenic precautions must be strictly followed. Candidates must have a detailed understanding of accessing and managing ports. The position involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care. Skills required include effective communication and patient education.
