Clinician , Licensed Clinician , Children's Residential 1 Year Required Degree: Masters Manage Others: No Description Clinicians work with individuals, groups and communities to improve mental health for clients in their care. They diagnose and treat emotional disorders, encourage individuals to talk about their feelings and help individuals develop new strategies to improve their lives and relationships. They also work cohesively with multidisciplinary teams to identify and implement therapeutically appropriate strategies to help clients cope with trauma or mental health concerns. This program provides mental health services and crisis intervention to children 5 to 13 years of age in a Residential Placement. The services provided include individual, family, collateral, group and case management in family homes, community and school settings as well as in the STRTP facility. Essential Job Functions: 1. Ability to communicate ideas in oral and written form. 2. Ability to instruct in group and individual settings. 3. Physical, mental and emotional health adequate to perform duties. 4. Must possess knowledge of mental health programs and community resources. 5. Adhere to all applicable legal, ethical standards and Community Care Licensing standards in accordance with Title 22 and Title 9. 6. Ability to work effectively with cultural/ethnic diversity. 7. Ability to work at various locations, including client homes, schools and community settings. 8. Effectively use de-escalation skills and techniques for crisis prevention. 9. BBS registration, licenses, credentials or like certifications must remain active and valid with their governing entity. 10. Ability to complete all documentation and other duties within the prescribed timeframes. Responsibilities: 1. Provide direct clinical services to clients. 2. Provide assessment and treatment planning for clients. 3. Provide group, individual, family, and collateral clinical services for clients. 4. Provide school consultation when appropriate. 5. Provide clinical oversight for other clinicians and other mental health staff in the STRTP. 6. Provide trauma informed, culturally sensitive trainings, coaching and modeling techniques to all staff and personnel. 7. Ensure compliance with all mental health contracts and applicable regulations. 8. Review and authorize STRTP mental health services in the BHRS electronic health record 9. Keep comprehensive clinical records that meet standards of the agency, The Joint Commission and contract. 10. Every 90 days will complete a Clinical Review Report and Transition Determination for each client in their care and under their clinical supervision. 11. Collaborate with the referring agency or other community agencies working with the client to coordinate treatment. 12. Collect outcome data, including consumer satisfaction surveys, as required by the agency and contract. 13. Must implement program goals and objectives to meet and maintain contractual requirements and productivity. 14. Participate in monthly peer review. 15. Report any suspected child abuse immediately to direct supervisor or utilize the chain of command if supervisor is not available. 16. Report any suspected dependent adult/elder abuse immediately to direct supervisor or utilize the chain of command if supervisor is not available. 17. Report any imminent danger to self or danger to others to direct supervisor or utilize the chain of command if supervisor is not available. 18. Attend staff meetings and trainings. Other: 1. Everyone who works in the organization has responsibilities for maintaining a culture of safety. Requirements 1. Clinician- Graduation from an accredited graduate program with major in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Behavior Analysis, or other related degree required. These degrees must be license eligible (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC). 2. In Home Based Services or experience in non-traditional clinical settings preferred. 3. Licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC) preferred.-- 5.--Current Board of Behavioral Sciences registration or license. 6. Sound personal qualifications (i.e. maturity, stability, high moral standards). 7. Must possess a valid California driver's license with less than two minor moving violations.
