Job Description:

Position Overview: Responsible for prepping, scanning and indexing all records and loose reports into the electronic health record per established Point of Service Scanning policy. Indexes documents into the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system, and performs quality assurance reviews on documents in work queues. Provides guidance to end users on appropriate document types, scanning methods, and equipment maintenance.Supports the success of a high-performing shared services organization by helping to champion and drive the long-term Sutter Shared Services vision. Helps foster an environment in which continuous improvement in business processes and services is welcomed and recognized. Participates in programs and in using tools in support of building a high performance culture via the standard Sutter Shared Services responsibilities (e.g. performance measurement, people development, customer relationship management, etc.).Serving the greater Stanislaus County with 423 plus acute care beds, Memorial Medical Center provides a full continuum of care including 24-hour emergency care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, nuclear medicine, dialysis therapy, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, physical therapy, and home health. Specialized care includes Memorial Regional Cancer Center and Memorial Heart Institute. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, write, hear, and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job. Ability to manage own time and schedule own tasks. Must have initiative to work efficiently without constant supervision and direction in a fast paced environment. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication. One (1) year experience working in a Health Information Management department, physician's office/clinic or medical billing service. Ability to type 30 WPM, typing certificate required. Must pass Sutter proficiency testing within first six months of start. Ability to use spreadsheet and word processing software applications. Ability to learn new applications/software systems effectively and efficiently. Physical, mental, and environmental factors: See attached "Physical and Environmental and Mental Job Factors" form. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: AA / AS degree. Successful completion of a college level medical terminology course. Demonstrated experience and a proven track record in Document Imaging or Forms Management in a facility of significant size and complexity, hospital business operations, information systems, and coding applications, as typically acquired in 0-2 years of experience in a medical records department, physician's office/clinic or medical billing service. Experience participating in Document Imaging or Forms Management standards, processes, policies, procedures and service level agreements. Experience in regional/ shared service environment with multiple/ matrix reporting relationships. General knowledge of all areas related to Document Imaging/Forms Management and how they interrelate. Knowledge of principles, methods and techniques related to compliant Document Imaging/Forms Management. Familiarity with Document Imaging/Forms Management functions in an acute setting. Knowledge of Electronic Health Records system applications, preferably EPIC. Skills in using Microsoft Office Suite.
