We are searching for a Senior Mechanical Lead to assist the Business Unit Leader in leading and managing the developed mechanical team. The position requires leadership and independent judgement in the management of mechanical engineering tasks on a department level, project management and other project functions. The Senior Mechanical Lead will be highly proficient in all aspects of Mechanical Engineering, including HVAC & Plumbing system design and proven leadership skills in project management. What you'll do: Develop staff through on-the-job coaching. Conduct performance reviews and personal development plan discussions. Coaches, motivates and inspires individuals to maximize and drive high-performance culture. Proactively supports and fosters a positive and collaborative AE work environment. Develops relationships with A/E technical staff and serves as a catalyst for operational improvements. Provides leaderships for our Engineers-in-Training and Mechanical Engineers to provide a high level of training leading to their Mechanical Engineering License. Responsible for promoting a mentoring support structure for staff to develop project management skills. Consistently provides complete and timely communication of project information to and from business unit and project delivery support team. Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the Business Unit Leadership Team - BUL, PIC, Production Manager, Project Administrator Works in a PM/EOR role as an active member of the Mechanical Project Team In-depth knowledge of the mechanical building industry, codes and standards Coordinates with architects, engineers, technicians, clients, sub-consultants and other design of the mechanical systems (HVAC and/or Plumbing) and a project level basis Responsible for Quality Control, Supervision, and Managing of the team's projects to product quality sets of documents that comply with the deliverable requirements for all phases of the project. Your Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent work experience. Current registration as a Mechanical engineer in the State of California, or the ability to obtain California registration within 6 months of employment. Must have valid driver license and insurable driving record. 10 years' work experience as a Professional Mechanical Engineer. Proficiency in all levels of construction document development. Proficient leadership skills/abilities. The ability to work well with others (team player) Ability to follow instructions. Proficient in office drafting standards. Excellent communication skills.
