Sr. Manager, Sales (Ag and Mineral Logistics)
Location - remote in California (ideally Central Valley, Central
Coast , Northern CA)
Summary
Drives sales growth with existing and prospective customers.
Supports and develops sales team members to drive cross-selling
with other divisions and lines of business and achieve optimal
results. Seeks out and builds new business relationships. Measured
on successful sales growth of the products and services as well as
cross-selling.
Essential Functions
This job description reflects management's assignment of essential

* Contacts prospective customers and persuades them to purchase
products and services and identifies opportunities to cross-sell
with other divisions and lines of business.
* Directs and assists the sales team in representing and selling
products and services and identifying cross-selling opportunities
with other divisions and lines of business.
* Directs customer service and technical service efforts to support
sales activity.
* Maintains professional relationships within the industry to
enhance reputation as a supplier to be trusted.
* Prepares sales reports, sales letters, etc. as needed.
* Oversees preparation of customer quotations.
* Required to be the product specialist in assigned area with
general knowledge of other divisions and lines of business, such as
acting as a liaison between sales and the divisional employees
and/or educating the sales team.
* Assists brokers & distributors in representing and selling
products as required.
* Closes sales and achieves yearly quotas as assigned.
* Leads and participants in Virtual meetings using a variety of
virtual meeting software.
* Inputs and tracks information in CRM and/or other sales software
system(s).
* Leads a team of sales professionals.
* Establishes and implements work standards and department metrics
to monitor performance.
* Support billing and collection activities as needed.
* Contributes to the development of sales programs, pamphlets,
print ads, internet sites, etc., to help promote the Company's
objectives.
* Prepares forecasts and analyzes trends in sales, demand, finance,
and general business conditions in collaboration with Sales
Operations, Marketing, Finance, and other internal teams.
* Takes an active role in the S&OP process for the improvement
the company.
* Manages, motivates, and assists in the growth of direct reports
in the sales organization.
* Responsible for the sales growth in revenue of direct
reports.
* Takes accountability for the annual planning process, including
pricing, programming, and forecasting sales based on sales related
data.
* Develops a successful vision/strategy, through strong leadership
skills.
* Participates in department and interdepartmental planning and
management teams and works crossfunctionally to improve processes
within the organization.
* Develops, maintains, and assures adherence to operating budget
and spending plan.
* Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable
quality, environmental, and safety regulatory considerations. If
accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their
understanding and compliance.
Supervisory Responsibilities
* Develops, coaches and mentors peers, indirect and subordinate
staff.
* If accountable for the work of others, conducts performance
evaluations; reviews and communicates salary adjustments; rewards
employees or takes disciplinary action, as necessary; addresses
complaints and resolves issues.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of Sales experience reflecting
increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or
State-issued equivalency certificate plus 12 years of Sales
experience reflecting increasing levels or responsibility.
* Experience selling logistics, agricultural products or services,
mobile bottling services, equipment and/or packaging products such
as Kegs, labels, closures, and bottle decorating services.
* Candidates for this position must have a valid driver's license
and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver's
license or appropriate state driver's license within 30 days of
hire.
* Travel by air and car is required 25% of the time.
* Skilled in the use of MS Word and MS Outlook at an intermediate
level MS Excel and MS PowerPoint at a basic level.
* Ability and willingness to participate in Virtual Meetings using
a variety of virtual meeting software.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree plus 10 years of Sales or Marketing experience
in the Food and Beverage or Beer industry reflecting increasing
levels of responsibility.
* Experience supervising and leading a high performing team.
* Highly developed leadership, customer relations, and sales
skills.
* Customer driven and a team player.
* Experience with Customer Relationship Management system
(CRM).
* Skilled in working independently, making sound decisions under
demanding time constraints.
* Experience reading, analyzing and interpreting complex
documents.
* Experience responding effectively to the most sensitive inquiries
or complaints.
* Experience writing speeches and articles using original or
innovative techniques or style.
* Experience making effective and persuasive speeches and
presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management,
public groups and boards of directors.
* Skilled in applying mathematical operations to such tasks as
frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and
validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling
theory and factor analysis.
* Experience applying principles of logical or scientific thinking
to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
* Experience dealing with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific
equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases.
* Experience dealing with a variety of abstract and concrete
variables.
